1 What is Gold Medal Safety Padding made of?

Gold Medal Safety Padding is a specially compounded synthetic resinous material.

2 Will it retain its shape?

Our material will hold its structure completely and will not suffer any distortion for its entire life.

3 Is it Fire Proof?

Gold Medal Safety Padding has a rating of Zero Spread of Flame and is Self Extinguishing. For a copy of Fire Certificates please contact us.

4 What is the top coat made of?

The top coat is a specially formulated urethane coating that stays adhered to the padded surface under compression.

5 What colours are available?

Due to the nature of the top coat and many installations around the world it is only offered in Tan.

6 Is it easy to clean?

Gold Medal Safety Padding can be washed with soap and water and a soft nylon brush if required.

7 Can it be damaged and if so how are repairs carried out?

While Gold Medal Safety Padding is highly resilient there may be times when damage occurs. If the occupant has handcuffs, utensils, or other items it might be possible to pick away the material. Usually these types of repairs can be carried out by onsite maintenance crews with the standard repair kits left at each installation. The room can be back in use less than 24 hours after the damage has occurred. This is a major advantage over competing products that can need up to 60 days curing.

8 Can the seams be easily damaged?

Unlike most other competing products Gold Medal Safety Padding is virtually seamless. During the installation procedure bonding material is applied to the full edge of each panel ensuring the seam has full front to back bonding. This means the seams are literally tougher than the main surface.

9 If using the room what procedures should be followed?

While each jurisdiction will have its own Policy and Procedures our recommendation is each occupant should have undergone a full search to ensure they have no utensils that could be used, importantly for self harm, but also to help prevent damage to the room.
